From Concept to File
To start this project, I first thought of which symbols best represented me, and how I could execute the design in Illustrator.

Here is a picture of my research from my designer notebook. It includes the STEM design, as well as my cursive name.

I then converted it into a vector image in Illustrator, and added my name in cursive to the file.

From File to Vinyl
Summary
In this amazing vinyl decal project, I learned a great number of things. First and foremost, I learned that when the letters in a word are too small, they tend to not stick where they are supposed to. As a result, I had to use a dental tool to constantly relocate them. I also learned that all cursive fonts Illustrator are not suitable to be printed out on vinyl either, as I could not even peel the negative space of the letters off. This meant I had to retype my name in a block font so I could personalize my notebook. Even through time-consuming setbacks, I still finished the project on time. This important knowledge I learned will greatly benefit me in the future, should I make another vinyl decal project.
